While 134 grown men floated away on a large ice floe in Lake Erie this past week, dear Seattle awoke this morning to the aftermath of night time snowfall...again. Yes, it is STILL winter in the Pacific Northwest. Sigh. And, although we do not have "ground hogs" here in the lovely Northwest, I am quite certain several families of MARMOT saw their shadow on Hurricane Ridge in the Olympic Mountain Range on February 2nd!
Baby, it's cold outside...and it looks as though Old Man Winter has come to sit for a spell in my usually rainy Emerald City. I never thought I'd say this, but...I kind of miss the rain (**ducking shoes thrown by native Seattlites**)...
Kiddo, you are always going to have a few Seattlites who say out loud that they miss the rain - during NICE weather. Though I'm a native, and therefore was born with webbed feet, I don't much care for the rain - but at least I can walk in it! So I say bring on the rain!
ReplyDeleteWe just got a dusting at around 5 AM. It only got the paper carriers!
Awwww. I'll be thinking of you and giggling today when it's 77 and sunny out and I'm basking in the sun whilst sipping lemonade. I mean it. I'll be thinking about YOU!
ReplyDeleteAnd wishing I had your snow for just a few hours. Long enough for my 10 year old boy and 6 year old granddaughter to play with me in it. Just enough for a snowman, a snow fort, and to make angels would be nice.
Oh, and if you could throw in a snow covered hill for a little sledding, that would be nice too. We could get 2 feet of snow here and a sled would still just sit there, immobile. LOL
I guess I'll just have to sit here in my T-shirt and shorts, out on my lawn chair sipping lemonade in the 77 degree sunshine and warm breezes and wish I was you.
You are so lucky.
/me ducks and runs
Did you photoshop that image or are there really people that stupid?? I mean, I saw the news thingie (beFORE my satellite got shut off) about the idiots on Lake Erie, but that ice chip you have there is mighty small. LOL
I think I recognize those guys...aren't they from FL? heehee
How is a person who lives in Maine supposed to respond to your blog today? The snow is so high here that I can't let my cats out into their fenced-in area because they can jump over the fence tops right now.....it is so cold.....we are used to that...My birthday is eerily Groundhog Day too to make your post odd to me....I guess the groundhog predicted 6 more weeks of winter, but I also hear they give the groundhog a tranquilizer to help him deal with all the hoopla of silly men in hats...sorry you miss the rain! Toughen Up! Who is that lady writing about 77 degree weather to torment all of us?
ReplyDeleteCrazy weather you're having. I hope your daily rain returns soon instead of the slop :)
ReplyDeleteHey, I really like that pic of the two men in the middle of a lake. Ok, so today it's raining, yesterday it was 60 degrees and Saturday it supposed to snow and be 22 degrees. Something wrong with this picture? Confusion my dear.

I'm waiting for Old Man Winter to return to Colorado Springs!
ReplyDeleteI'm laughing about the Punxsutawney Phil reference because we call my dad Punxsutawney Dick. He emerges mysteriously from his little den about once a day to socialize, then he creeps back into his hole (he's a very mild-mannered fellow who needs a break from my hyper, talkative mom, so I don't blame him....)
