And I have been SOB...not to be confused with AOB (alcohol on breath). I've also been a bit MIO (missing in action) due to my SOB and hope to BBS (be back soon).
I'm currently on a Z-pac (antibiotics) for bronchitis and "possible" pneumonia, which has only served to "kick up" my MS (Multiple Sclerosis) symptoms. My ARNP (Adult Nurse Practitioner) says "possible pneumonia" (by symptoms) because I haven't had a chest X-ray done to confirm this. I was snowed in until this past Sunday and, frankly, feeling too ill to mess with getting somewhere to have an X-ray taken. I was on day 3 of laryngitis yesterday (haven't tried my operatic voice yet today to see if it has returned), with wheezing/cough/gurgling in my lungs, low grade fever at night, night sweats, severe fatigue, shortness of breath, stabbing knife-like pain just below my sternum (breast bone) when I coughed, and a few other respiratory symptoms.
TTFN (Ta ta for now) BFF's (You guys)...
TCL (take care Linda), give yourself some TLC (tender loving care), eat a BLT (bacon lettuce tomato sandwich) and some LTB (lentils cooked in turkey broth) because we all LBC (love Brain Cheese) and LTBC (like to beyauch cheerfully).
ReplyDeleteI should have warned you - don't laugh, or it will drive that knife further into your sternum.
See what I mean?
I don't you not to laugh.
BBS dearest BC
man, what a winter. Feel better. I am having SOB too but it's just stupid old anxiety.
ReplyDeleteThe 2 ladies in Seattle whose blogs I love are both horribly ill--you are having a terrible winter out there-we see the snowfall amounts daily. Guess we are used to this weather in the Northeast but it has really hit you hard...please leave the bacon off your BLT and cook your lentils in vegetable broth. Hope you feel better asap. Joyce (another New Years Eve reading blogs....)
ReplyDeleteLet's all just send out our thoughts tonight for a healthy 2009--that is the best thing of all
ReplyDeleteOOOHHH, I am so sorry you are feeling so poorly. I'm glad you're on the Z-pac, and hope you can get in for a chest X-ray soon. ((((HUGS))))
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year - It WILL be better!
Dude! I can't believe you're still sick. That SUCKS!
ReplyDeleteIF you do end up in the ER, please insist that they get a plain chest xray (AND READ IT!) first before you let them do a chest CT with contrast to rule out pulmonary embolism. Everyone that comes in the ER door complaining of SOB gets a chest CT, a whopping dose of radiation, and a whopper of a bill just so the ER doc can cover his ass... regardless of the fact that they have bronchitis and classic pneumonia symptoms. Don't let this happen to you, CHEESE!
Oh, and feel better soon.
.....Happy 2009 Cheezaliscious.....
ReplyDeleteI wish I could come over and go MIO and AOB on you but then you'd go SOB on me and I wouldn't be your BFF anymore...
ReplyDeleteTa ta! Get well.
I just got over my own round of ammonia and you have my sympathy -- it really sucks! I was so wiped out I could barely move and that damn knife in my back made breathing miserable, which is why I tried to give it up, to no avail. Honestly, a vaporizer really helped me. That and bitching and moaning about it until my roomies threatened me with my life.
